Gustare Honey recently held an exclusive mixology session with bartender extraordinaire, Douglas Ankrah, at luxury 5 star London hotel, Cafe Royal.
Set in the heart of Regent Street, the renowned hotel, established in 1865, played the glamorous scene to the members-only event. Behind the hotel's main bar, The Green Room, legendary mixologist, Douglas Ankrah, created a whole host of delicious cocktails, all made using Gustare's honey.

Ankrah is widely regarded as one of the best bartenders in the world, so Gustare was very pleased to have him inventing innovate cocktails at the Cafe Royal event. Ankrah transformed the art of cocktail making in his two popular London bars, Townhouse and Lab Bar. The latter is the birthplace of the Pornstar Martini and on several best bar in the world lists.
Four cocktails were created, one for each season, using Gustare’s four honey flavours: Yellow Box, which holds a delicate taste, Grey Iron Bark, which is milld, Stringy Bark, which is rich, and Apple Box, which is strong.
Creatinging Gustare's Signature Cocktail
The innovative mixology session with Ankrah created Gustare’s signature cocktail, which will be featured at The Speciality & Fine Foods Fair this year, where Gustare Honey will be exhibiting for the first time, and announcing the release of their other signature cocktails.
Gustare's raw honey is produced by artisan beekeepers in Australia using natural flora, covering several different climatic zones. The distinct terroir of the growing conditions is one of the many ways that Gustare differentiates itself from other honey retailers. Each type of honey has not been filtered and blended with other honeys, which gives each type a distinct richer, more fragrant flavour unique to that particular floral type.
